Our featured artist for the month of October is Kristen McIlhargey. Kristen is a local artist who actively engages the public through a number of exhibits throughout the community. McIlhargey is a contemporary artist who works in a realistic style. Her art is a complex amalgamation of design, geometry, and emotion. She enjoys experimenting with different styles, techniques, and mediums.
Ms. McIlhargey earned her B.A. in Studio Arts with an emphasis in photography from Fresno State. In addition to photography Kristen also enjoys painting, illustrating, and design. Her passion for art developed at a young age. She enjoyed illustrating and crafting custom cards for her friends and family throughout her childhood.
The Green Office Furnishings gallery will feature Kristen’s 2014 photographic series “Dreaming in Light”. The series contains surreal scenes born from double exposures and layers of textures. Ethereal feminine portraits layered with urban and natural landscapes explore the complexity of human emotion.
